Meaning of the śloka
The text describes these signs according to the structure burnt: in skin, a sound, unpleasant smell and contraction; in flesh, a pigeon-like colour, little swelling and pain, and a dry, contracted wound; in vessels and sinews, a black, raised wound and cessation of discharge; in joints and bones, dryness with reddish colour and a rough, firm wound.
