Our Core Principles
Ensuring complete medical confidentiality, a safe healing space, and absolute clarity at every step of diagnosis and therapy.
Using careful assessment, individualized medicines, and targeted Ayurveda treatment planning.
Providing empathetic support and a respectful environment for sensitive health concerns.
Guided by qualified Ayurveda care with a focus on responsible, clinically grounded treatment decisions.
Our approach
Our consultations go beyond prescribing medicines. We help patients understand their bodies, identify the root causes of illness, and adopt healthier habits that support long-term wellbeing.
Alongside treatment, we place strong emphasis on diet, bowel habits, lifestyle modifications, and preventive healthcare because sustainable healing begins with education and everyday practice.
Medicine is not merely the science of treating disease, it is the art of restoring harmony. That philosophy continues to guide Dr. Vijaya’s work as a clinician, teacher, researcher, and public health advocate.
She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Shalya Tantra at Dr. B.R.K.R. Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Hyderabad, while balancing medical education with the care of patients suffering from anorectal and surgical disorders.
Clinical focus
Specialized in anorectal and surgical Ayurveda care with a strong focus on hemorrhoids, fissure-in-ano, fistula-in-ano, pilonidal sinus, perianal abscesses, and individualized Ksharasutra-based management.

Dr. Vijaya’s academic journey has been driven by a genuine curiosity for Ayurveda and a commitment to continuous learning. She graduated from Amrita School of Ayurveda, Kollam, as a University Silver Medalist. Soon after internship, she secured First Rank in Andhra Pradesh and Second Rank in Telangana in AIAPGET, paving the way for her specialization in Shalya Tantra.
She regards these milestones not merely as awards, but as reminders that sincere effort and disciplined learning create the strongest foundation for meaningful medical practice.
From an early stage in her medical career, Dr. Vijaya found herself drawn to Shalya Tantra, one of Ayurveda’s most sophisticated branches that integrates ancient surgical wisdom with practical clinical application. The precision described by Acharya Sushruta continues to inspire her clinical thinking.
Her objective is not merely to preserve traditional knowledge, but to interpret it with clarity, validate it through modern scientific understanding, and apply it responsibly in contemporary clinical practice.
Equally important to treatment is prevention. She strongly believes that educating patients about diet, bowel habits, lifestyle modifications, and preventive healthcare forms the cornerstone of sustainable healing.
Dr. Vijaya’s clinical interests primarily revolve around proctology and ano-rectal disorders, an area where Ayurveda has demonstrated strong therapeutic potential. Over the years, she has managed numerous patients with hemorrhoids, fissure-in-ano, fistula-in-ano, pilonidal sinus, perianal abscesses, and related anorectal concerns.
Among these, the management of complex fistula-in-ano remains one of her principal areas of interest. Witnessing patients regain comfort, confidence, and quality of life continues to reinforce her belief that traditional medicine has an indispensable role in contemporary healthcare.
Alongside clinical practice, teaching has become one of the most rewarding aspects of her professional life. As an Assistant Professor, she has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students across various aspects of Shalya Tantra for five years.
One of the experiences she cherishes most is conducting human anatomy dissection classes, where students witness the intricate design of the human body firsthand. These sessions cultivate observation, respect for anatomy, and confidence that later become essential in surgical practice.
She has also mentored numerous graduates preparing for postgraduate entrance examinations through institutions such as Uma Academy and Drona Institute for nearly seven years.
Her interest in research stems from the same curiosity that drives her clinical work. Evidence-based practice is essential for Ayurveda to continue evolving while preserving its authentic principles.
Throughout her academic career, she has actively participated in research, scientific discussions, and scholarly activities aimed at strengthening the evidence base for Ayurveda interventions.
Outside her professional responsibilities, Dr. Vijaya enjoys activities that keep her grounded and balanced while reinforcing the healthy lifestyle she encourages in others. She believes physicians should also practice the healthy habits they recommend.

"True healing begins not only with medicine, but with knowledge, compassion, and the willingness to guide every individual towards a healthier way of life."
Dr. Vijaya’s vision is to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Ayurveda by integrating classical wisdom with modern scientific inquiry, expanding evidence-based clinical practice, mentoring future generations of Ayurveda physicians, and promoting preventive healthcare across society. She believes Ayurveda remains profoundly relevant today when understood with authenticity, interpreted with intellectual honesty, and practiced with scientific rigor.
Whether she is treating a patient, teaching a classroom full of students, conducting research, or speaking to a community audience, her purpose remains unchanged: to make Ayurveda more understandable, more accessible, and more impactful for every individual it serves.
Why Ayana exists
We believe Ayurveda remains deeply relevant today when it is practiced with authenticity, interpreted with intellectual honesty, and delivered with scientific responsibility. That is the foundation on which Ayana Ayurveda has been built.
